Patient Service Associate

As a Patient Service Associate, you will play a vital role in coordinating interdepartmental workflows to enhance and ensure operational efficiency within our clinical setting.

Patient Care Duties

  • Schedule patient appointments and make reminder calls.
  • Obtain patient address, contact details, insurance information, and medical history.
  • Maintain patient data up-to-date and verify patient information at every visit.
  • Identify patient’s insurance coverage and collect co-payments.
  • Process credit card payments and balance daily cash deposits.
  • Perform timely billing in the Clinic Management System and insurance portals.
  • Inform patients about delays and waiting times.
  • Support triage to gather patient information for clinical judgment and priority of care.
  • Respond to patient queries and concerns in a professional manner.
  • Stay updated with information regarding insurance programs and funding sources.
  • Assist patients in filling forms.
  • Manage patients’ records in accordance with the PDPA act.
  • Maintain clinic(s) supplies inventory by checking stock levels.
  • Assist with the dispensing of medication under supervision.

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Assist Doctors/Nurses in procedures.
  • Perform venepuncture (possess a valid certification).
  • Perform various procedures in the treatment room (e.g., Tonometry, Spirometry, Audiometry, ECG, Dressing, etc.).
  • Attend educational trainings for professional development.
  • Maintain proper infection control standards.
  • Demonstrate proper use and care of medical and IT equipment.
  • Supervise and mentor less experienced staff.
  • Respect the values, customs, spiritual beliefs, and practices of individuals and groups.
  • Articulate FHG Purpose and Shared Values in daily work.
  • Adhere to the policies, procedures, and standards protocols of the organization.
  • Perform any other additional duties as assigned by the Clinic IC / Ops Manager.

  • Proven track record and a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English.
  • Possess good knowledge of medications.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with colleagues from cross departments.
  • Ability to be both a team leader and a team player.
  • Interest and aptitude in the healthcare field.
  • Proactive, patient-oriented, and progressive.
  • Ability to prioritise and exceed expectations.
  • Able to work in a stressful environment and has good coping mechanisms.
  • Empathetic with a problem-solving attitude.
  • Foster a supportive and compassionate environment for patient care.
  • Willingness to commit to night clinics/shift work will be advantageous.

Qualifications

  • Education: Minimum GCE “N” Levels.
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in Healthcare.
  • Applicants must be fully vaccinated (according to MOH guidelines w.e.f. 14 Feb 2022). Proof of vaccination or a doctor’s memo for those who are medically ineligible for vaccination may be requested for verification purposes.
