Rafael is the Managing Director of Codega Investments, Inc. (BVI), a private fund manager. He has extensive experience with direct investments having previously led the Philippine and then the Southeast Asian private equity operations of AIG Investments Corp. (Asia) Ltd. (HK), and having been a consultant for Lombard Investments (USA).
In the past, he was also the chief executive officer of an aviation services company (Philippines), a board member of the Development Bank of the Philippines (chairing its Information Technology, Risk Oversight, Non-Performing Assets Committees), a Deputy Administrator of a Philippine autonomous special economic zone, and a management consultant for McKinsey & Co (USA).
He has been a board member of several private and listed companies in the Asia-Pacific region. He has a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management from Stanford University.
